Tash works for local Bendigo building company Lansell Homes in their estimating and accounts department.

From a young age, Tash aspired to become a lawyer but after some time at university, decided law was not for her.

What are your key attributes?

The ability to understand a problem and the impact on the business, logical reasoning, critical thinking, perseverance, and willingness to adapt. Examples of this in my workplace include evaluating the prices for client extras, reviewing financial system software and implementing new documents.

What challenges have you faced throughout your career journey?

Three obstacles I’m looking to overcome is having confidence in my own abilities, learning to delegate and proving myself.

To overcome not having confidence in my abilities, I try to remember that people have put their faith in me for a reason - I've proven that I can do other things before, so why not this thing? I'm still struggling with learning to delegate - sometimes it's hard to admit that you're not the best person for the job or that you're not able to do the job. I also struggle with not believing I am the right person for the job, and delegating it when I shouldn't It's been a challenge trying to prove myself, as I am working in the family business. Even if other people don't perceive it that way, I work to show that I was not just given a job because I'm family- that I earned it with my work

What are you planning to do next to develop your career?

I am completing a Certificate IV in Business and a Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping. I plan on continuing my education and work with everyone within the business to understand what they do and how they do it. I want to get as much experience as I possibly can in all aspects, so that I know how everything fits together. As the business expands, I also want to further my role - take on more responsibility and ownership. I plan on eventually becoming a registered builder
