Secondary students are looking for a wide range of opportunities to experience the world of work before they decide on a career pathway. The Goldfields LLEN offers a range of tailored work placement options that benefit both students and businesses alike.
Structured Workplace Learning is hands-on, on the job training, during which a secondary student studying VET or VCAL has the opportunity to develop their work skills and understand employer expectations.
School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships are completed part time while the young person continues their schooling. Government incentives are available to employers who take on a school based apprentice or trainee.
Work Experience is the short-term placement of a secondary student with employers providing insight into an industry and workplace of interest. This includes volunteer, community and event experience. Students undertaking work experience are there to observe and learn, rather than undertake activities.
